  • No Barriers to Success

As retail reopened after lockdown, a large shopping centre in Newham, east London, contacted one of their supply chain partners to get barriers and crowd control in place. Based on past performance, the supply chain partner called City Traffic Management and we did what we do for all our clients, went above and beyond to deliver. A few calls later, the wheels were set in motion, between the barriers that we stock and, thanks to our own supply chain, stock we were able to obtain, we had the ability to provide a solution to the problem. 2000 metres of barrier were delivered to site within the day, and our team were setting them up by 5am the following morning.

  • Holy Traffic Management Batman

London was one of the shooting locations for the new Batman film, and DC Films needed to have complete control of the area which includes several busy roads. Actors and crew need to be able to do their jobs without thinking about the possible dangers around them and add onto that a global pandemic the likes of which we haven’t seen before. We had 16 of our operations team COVID tested and over the next two weeks our team pulled out every stop to ensure nothing was left to chance and everyone’s safety was taken care of. The team worked around the clock to get everything set up in time for the shooting. Lane closures with stop and go works in place made sure the traffic wouldn’t be an issue for the caped crusader and his crew.

  • Health and Safety is no Accident

Given the environment we work in, the type of work we do and the nature of the work and industries we come into contact with, it occurred to me that we have never had a single RIDDOR since I started the company in 2009. We aim to continue this trend and push forward with this culture throughout our workforce as a minimum expectation for many years to come yet…

  • Going the Extra Mile

Local high street serves form the backbone of the community and are more than just somewhere to buy groceries, they are an integral part of our society. Now imagine the pressure of closing the local high street, including the pavement and all access. That’s access to the local chemist, the local newsagents, the greengrocer, the butcher, the opticians, the bars, the pubs, the restaurants all of whom are trying to recover from the recent covid19 lockdown. Weybridge, a leafy village in Surrey has just such a high street and when we were asked to facilitate the road closure for a four-week duration, we were acutely aware of the challenges this would bring, not just for the traffic but for the community…

  • Racing to the rescue

It’s Friday afternoon and everybody is ready to go home for the weekend. At 5.30 pm we get a call from one of our Utility contractors and there has been a water main burst on the A43 which has the water feed to three local villages and one of the largest pig farms in the UK. The South of the UK is in the middle of a heatwave with temperatures reaching 34 degrees. Oh, and one last thing – this weekend is the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, just a few miles down the road…
